Frequently Asked Questions
How long and how often are therapy sessions?
I typically offer weekly therapy 45-sessions. In some cases, as with short-term trauma focused work, I offer 90-minute or 3-hour intensive block sessions. I am happy to discuss this on a case by case basis and make a collaborative decision that fits your needs and goals.
Is therapy a noun or a verb?
Although the English language sees therapy as a noun, I like to think of it as verb. Getting back into your life in a meaningful way takes action, commitment, and hard work. Engaging in therapy is a wonderful step. Don’t just show up to your appointments. Show up in your sessions with me and be ready to take steps towards change each time we meet, no matter how small.
Do you see clients in person or via Telehealth?
I offer a hybrid model of in person and/or Telehealth options. My office is located in the Arts District of Hyattsville, MD.
*You must reside in one of the PSYPACT states for Telehealth appointments due to licensure requirements and restrictions.
What languages do you use in your practice?
I offer services in English and American Sign Language. I am also conversational in French with a strong knowledge and background in French culture. I provide therapy in a mixture of English and French if you speak both languages and don’t mind this dynamic.
Do you take insurance?
I am an Out of Network provider, which means the full fee of the therapy session is due after each session and I do not take insurance directly. Many of my clients use their out of network insurance benefits, however, and I am happy to provide a “Superbill” for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Most insurance companies will ask for specific codes (see below). I strongly suggest that you call your insurance company before scheduling an appointment with me to determine if you have these benefits and to understand the reimbursement percentage.

What are your fees?
Therapy is a significant investment in time, energy, and financial resources. It is crucial to choose a therapist that feels like a good fit and who has the expertise to support you in moving towards your goals. My fees reflect my specialized training as a doctoral-level clinician and the expertise that comes with continued education, advanced training, and consultation.
$280/45minutes
What is your cancellation policy?
I offer weekly therapy appointments, unless we have discussed and agreed upon a different treatment plan that is in line with your therapy goals. My cancellation policy is a full 48 hours (for 45 minute appointments) and a full week (for anything over 45 minutes). Every client receives an emergency late cancellation with no charge (*does not apply to the initial or final therapy session), after which, the full fee applies. Late fees can be avoided by rescheduling within the same week. In order to maintain your reserved weekly appointment spot, clients are permitted to “skip” a specified number of sessions per calendar year, after which the full fee applies.

How do I know if we will be a good fit?
Let’s meet for an initial 45 minute appointment using (In person, Phone/VP, or Zoom). I believe it is extremely important to feel comfortable with the therapist you choose and I also want to be sure I can provide the best services to you based on my skills and expertise. I recognize that searching for a therapist can be a daunting process and if you decide I am not a good fit for you, or if you are looking for something specific that I might not be able to provide, I am happy to refer you to someone I trust who might better suit your needs.
*Please note that any initial contact to schedule an appointment is not a therapy session and simply offers an information to determine fit.
